Leading Developer Shawn Purdy started web-design back in 1999 with what would be considered very out of date software today. A simple HTML editor with very limited functions. Back in the day it was diffcult to find a website that had much more then a simple html page.

Today however 10 years later Shawn works completely in notepad and designs his css/html and php code all in Notepad or Notepad++ coupled with codeigniter framework which is designed by EllisLabs. What we can do today in web development far exceeds anything we could do 10 years ago. Now a days, its common place to see even the simplist of web-sites with full blown content management systems.

It's important and much easier to be able to change things on your website with ease.
